Saltburn star Jacob Elordi appears in the first-look imagery from drama Oh, Canada.

Directed by Paul Schrader (The Card Counter), it's an adaptation of Russell Banks' novel Foregone, charting the final days of late documentarian Leonard Fife (played by Primal Fear's Richard Gere), who was a friend of Schrader's until his death in January 2023.

Oh, Canada is currently being sold by Arclight Films at the European Film Market, having shot in and around New York City last autumn.

Elordi, who most recently played the aristocratic Felix Catton in Emerald Fennell's aforementioned black comedy, appears as the young Leonard.

Schrader told Variety of the Aussie's casting: "I can't say we planned it exactly, but Jacob plays the younger Fife with great skill and he also happened to explode while we were making the film. We could not have got a better actor to play the younger Richard".

The on-screen Fife is described as an "enigmatic American who fled to Canada during the Vietnam War", fashioning himself a career in nonfiction filmmaking "while his entire life was built around a creation myth that is largely bullshit".

Oh, Canada unfolds across a series of flashbacks to Fife's twenties, with Schrader adding: "Fife is dying and realising that his whole life has been built on lies and he is trying to confront himself before he dies".

The White Lotus star Michael Imperioli, The Buccaneers' Kristine Froseth and Kill Bill icon Uma Thurman are all in the cast, too.

Meanwhile, Thurman's daughter Maya Hawke landed a plum role in director Stephen Frears' Billy Wilder movie Wilder & Me earlier in the month. She'll play a musician named Calista.
