Jennifer Garner looks set to reunite with ex-husband Ben Affleck for a new Netflix movie.

The actress is reportedly in talks to star in Animals, which will be directed by Affleck and will co-star Matt Damon.

Fans will know that Garner and Affleck were married between 2005 and 2018, and appeared in a number of movies together including Pearl Harbor and Daredevil.

Animal is described as a crime thriller that follows a mayoral candidate (Damon) and his wife (Garner) as their son is kidnapped. As they try to get their son back, they have no choice but to get their hands dirty, all while surrounded by enemies.

Alongside directing, Affleck is set to produce the movie, while Connor McIntyre and Billy Ray have worked on the screenplay.

Following the announcement of their split back in 2015, Affleck said he was a "giant fan" of his now-former spouse.

"She's just a fabulous person. She's just a wonderful person. She's a great mother. She's a real talent," he told CBS This Morning at the time, saying they were putting their three children first.

"Life doesn't always turn out exactly the way you want," he added.

Affleck has since rekindled his relationship with Jennifer Lopez, having previously been together between 2002 and 2004, with the couple tying the knot in 2022.

In other news, last year Garner addressed rumours that she could be reprising her role as Elektra in upcoming Marvel movie Deadpool & Wolverine.

Responding to the idea that she could "hypothetically" turn up in the movie, she told Collider: "Not that I'm aware of."

Animal will stream on Netflix.
