Euphoria actor Jacob Elordi has revealed that he turned down an audition to play Superman.
The Australian actor, who has recently appeared in Priscilla and Saltburn, admitted that Hollywood has been knocking on his door to see if he wants to get into the superhero game, but he's not interested.
In an interview with GQ, Elordi didn't name the specific project that he was approached for, but stated that: "They asked me to read for Superman.
"That was immediately, 'No, thank you.' That's too much. That's too dark for me."

It's not just the Man of Steel that Elordi isn't bothered about - it's superheroes in general.

"Not particularly, no," he said when asked if he was keen to star in a Marvel or DC film. "I've always been told to say a rounded answer or my agent will get mad at me. 'Anything can happen!'
"And obviously anything can happen, but at this stage in my life, I don't see myself having any interest in that. I like to make what I would watch, and I get very restless watching those movies."

Elordi's breakthrough came through Netflix's The Kissing Booth trilogy, but he explained that he didn't enjoy making the films, and hopes that he has finished acting in franchises like The Kissing Booth.
"I didn't want to make those movies before I made those movies," he said. "Those movies are ridiculous. They're not universal. They're an escape."
"That ['one for them, one for me' ethos is] a trap as well. Because it can become 15 for them, none for you. You have no original ideas and you're dead inside. So it's a fine dance. My 'one for them,' I've done it."
The Kissing Booth trilogy is available on Netflix. Priscilla is in cinemas now in the US and opens with preview screenings from December 26 in the UK, ahead of a wider release in January 2024. The next Superman film, Legacy, is set for July 11, 2025.
