The Flash spoilers follow.

The Flash director Andy Muschietti has revealed a Gremlins reference in the movie that fans may have missed.

Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy, the director spoke about some of the indicators for the divergences between the two universes.

"There's several indications of divergences between the two universes," he began. "One of them is Looney Tunes that as you see in Barry's apartment, it's spelled differently in the screensaver of the computer."

Muschietti then added: "And the character of Albert, he has a Gremlins shirt that says 'do not feed after noon'. The Mandela effect is very present in those scenes in the background."

Elsewhere, producer Barbara Muschietti has spoken of the moment that Michael Keaton returned as Batman on the movie's set, telling DS: "It was amazing. It was almost religious.

"The crew is always talking and chatting, and we were in the Batcave, the ADs told us he was walking in and you could hear a pin drop.

"It was complete quiet and I still get chills from seeing him just going up the tower in full regalia and just standing there. It was magical. I think it was magical for him too."

Andy added: "Absolutely. It was fantastic, but obviously I'm a player in all of this and I have to be very focused.

"Everyone is observing at that point. I'm not observing, I have to go and talk to Michael and have a lot of variants in my head to do with timing, performance, flow, framing, so you're dealing with a lot of things and you have to do it in a very tight amount of time.

"Forgive me if I wasn't flying around in awe [laughs], which I was."

The Flash is out now in UK cinemas and released in US cinemas on June 16.
