Drew Barrymore has revealed what would make her return to acting now that she has a day job.

The beloved star of 50 First Dates has spent the last few years primarily working on her US chat show, which airs daily across the country and has received multiple Daytime Emmy Award nominations.

The chat show came about as her Netflix series Santa Clarita Diet ended, allowing her to spend more time with her children following her split from ex-husband Will Kopelman.

Even though Drew is busy with her show and various commercial endorsements these days, she told People that a chance to work with one former co-star could entice her to resume acting.

"As soon as you talk about Adam Sandler, I'm like, 'Oh, well maybe. Sure'," she said.

Barrymore previously worked with Adam Sandler on the '90s comedy The Wedding Singer, then reunited many years later for 50 First Dates and then the family rom-com Blended.

The former child star also spoke about some of the professional reasons why she shifted away from acting to hosting her own daily chat show.

"I knew what I was pitching was not playing a character, it was being me. I wanted to work as me, whatever it was going to be," she said.

The actress went on: "Investing two years into something that could disappear overnight, it doesn't feel like the right Sisyphus to me... [The show] is no farewell. This is no, 'I'm never going back.'

"Maybe when the kids are older."
