DC will not be moving forward with Patty Jenkins' current plans for Wonder Woman 3, it has been reported.
According to Deadline, new DC bosses James Gunn and Peter Safran turned down the Wonder Woman director's outline for the third movie, as it didn't align with the studio's new direction.
It comes only days after Gal Gadot teased that she was excited to return as the titular role, having tweeted: "I’ve been so grateful for the opportunity to play such an incredible, iconic character and more than anything I’m grateful for YOU. The fans. Can’t wait to share her next chapter with you."

Whatever Gunn and Safran's new vision for the DC universe may be, The Hollywood Reporter has said that the co-chairs are expected to meet with Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav next week and lay it all bare.
Gunn previously reassured fans that Peacemaker would return for another season, after concerns that the show could be axed after the cancellation of Batgirl in August.
It seems that fans might continue to see a reshuffle of potential DC projects, or recasting announcements, as the Guardians of the Galaxy director and Safran map out the future of the universe.
There have also been rumours that Henry Cavill will no longer reprise his role as Superman, after he appeared in the Black Adam post-credit scene and confirmed his return on Instagram.

However, this does not seem to be the case, as recently the actor said that he can't wait to meet and work with Gunn on future DC projects.
"I'm looking very forward to meeting him," Cavill told IGN. "He's clearly a very, very talented man, and I cannot wait to sit down and have long, long conversations with him.
"I'm very excited about him being there and very excited about any future opportunities we can work together."
Wonder Woman and Wonder Woman 1984 are now available to rent or buy on streaming on Prime Video.
