Superstore and Ugly Betty star America Ferrera has found her next movie after landing a role in the upcoming comedy-drama Dumb Money.
Dumb Money is based on Ben Mezrich's book The Antisocial Network, which tells the true-life tale of how a group of private investors and internet trolls took to a subreddit page called WallStreetBets in an attempt to take down a Wall Street hedge fund. The incident ended up changing Wall Street forever in what was widely regarded as a modern day David vs Goliath story.
It is unknown what role Ferrera will be playing in the film, but she has joined a star-studded cast that includes The Batman's Paul Dano, the MCU's Sebastian Stan, Seth Rogen, Pete Davidson, Shailene Woodley, Anthony Ramos, Dane DeHaan and Kingpin actor Vincent D'Onofrio.

The Sony Pictures film does not yet have a release date but Craig Gillespie, who is best known for directing I, Tonya and Cruella, will helm the picture. The movie will be written by Orange Is The New Black writers Rebecca Angelo and Lauren Schuker Blum.
This is one of several intriguing projects coming up for Ferrera, who will also star in Greta Gerwig's highly-anticipated Barbie alongside Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling and Simu Liu.
Ferrera is best known for her role in Ugly Betty, in which she played Betty Suarez — a young professional with a unique appearance who moves into the world of New York high-end fashion. Ferrera was nominated for two Emmy awards for best actress in a comedy series, winning on her first nomination in 2007.

Ferrera then went on to star in the popular sitcom series Superstore, which followed the employees of a big box store. She starred in 103 episodes of the series, which ran from 2015 until 2021.
