Joker: Folie à Deux has added yet another actor to its roster, and this time, its Maze Runner actor Jacob Lofland – who is set to have a key role in the Arkham Asylum.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Lofland has joined Joaquin Phoenix – who will reprise his role as the Joker from the first film – and Lady Gaga, who will play Harley Quinn in the second instalment of the critically acclaimed DC comics inspired movie.
Lofland will play a key supporting role of an inmate at Arkham Asylum who ends up developing a relationship with Arthur Fleck/Joker.

Brendan Gleeson and Catherine Keener are also joining the cast and Todd Philips will return to direct.
Plot details are few and far between, but from what we know, Joker 2 is set to have a musical element to it, and is also believed to be set in Arkham Asylum, the institution for the criminally insane.
The first Joker garnered massive critical acclaim upon its release and even earned Joaquin Phoenix an Oscar for his role as the Clown Prince of Crime.

Lady Gaga confirmed her involvement in the sequel back in August by posting a teaser which announced her introduction into the cast.
The teaser shows the silhouettes of the Joker and Harley Quinn dancing and looking intently at each other as french music plays in the background.
The snippet also revealed the release date for the film, which will be on October 4, 2024. So we will have quite a while to wait before we see this comic book adaptation turned musical brought to life.
Joker is available to buy on Blu-ray or streaming now. Its sequel Joker: Folie à deux has been announced and will be released in cinemas on October 4, 2024.
