Halloween Ends aims to – as the title suggests – end the long-running franchise, but it seems that the conclusion of the movie still hasn't been completely confirmed.
According to director David Gordon Green, the ending "changes every day", despite the movie being out next month.
"In theory, the picture is locked, but this morning I called the editor and said: 'What if we do this one thing…,'" he told Empire.

"I speak with John [Carpenter] and Jamie Lee Curtis regularly about it. It's exciting, uncertain, satisfying and sad. I've enjoyed the ride but it's probably time to get off," Green said of finishing off the franchise. "I think we're gonna go out with a bang."
As for the movie itself, Green also teased what to expect, explaining: "If our second film was free-for-all, violent chaos, this is a more intimate, atmospheric conclusion."

Addressing the decision, Curtis said recently: "There are people who want to go to the cinema and scream their guts out and other people who want to stay at home and scream their guts out. No matter how you watch this final chapter, I hope you'll get people together to scream and cheer and hold your breath until the end.
"We created this for you and we thank you for your years of support and how much you care about this story – and me, your Final Girl."
Halloween Ends is scheduled to be released on October 14, 2022.
