Harry Styles fans, it's time to play some music for a sushi restaurant, because Anne Hathaway has found her next film – and it is based on a Harry Styles fanfiction (no, not that one).
The Ocean's Eight actress is set to star as the lead in the film adaptation of the popular Harry Styles-inspired fanfiction novel The Idea of You (via EW).
The film is based on the book written by Robinne Lee, and the premise sees Hathaway play the character of Sophie, a 40-year-old divorced mother whose husband left her for a younger woman.

When he cancels a trip with their 15-year-old daughter to Coachella, Sophie steps in to save the weekend. It is here that she meets 24-year-old Hayes Campbell, who is loosely based on Styles. He is the lead singer of one of the hottest boy bands of the planet, August Moon, which is loosely based on One Direction, which Styles was a member of.
And so Sophie's weekend trip turns into a whirlwind, life-changing romance.
The film is being made for Prime Video and counts Hathaway, Cathy Schulman, Gabrielle Union, Kian Gass, Eric Hayes, Jordana Mollick, and the book's author Robinne Lee as producers. Michael Showalter (The Dropout, The Big Sick) will direct and produce.

In an interview with Vogue, Lee said that this book was never supposed to be a book about Harry Styles: "It was supposed to be a story about a woman approaching 40 and reclaiming her sexuality and rediscovering herself, just at the point that society traditionally writes women off as desirable and viable and whole."
The book is being adapted for the screen by Jennifer Westfeldt.
This is not the first time a Harry Styles fanfiction has been adapted for the screen – Anna Todd's After series has been turned into a bonafide franchise over at Prime Video.
Production for The Idea of You is set to begin in October, though a release date is yet to be confirmed.
