Shazam! Fury of the Gods star Rachel Zegler has said she's "very sad" over the Worlds of DC movie's latest release date delay.
Warner Bros Discovery's restructuring of the DC universe continued this week with Shazam! Fury of the Gods and Aquaman 2 both being pulled off their scheduled release dates.
The second Shazam film was originally supposed to debut on April 1, 2022, but it was pushed back-and-forth between 2022 and 2023 a few times. Now, it's set to open on March 17, 2023.

Zegler shared her disappointment over the news on Twitter, writing: "thanks for all the love, mi familia — shazam!: fury of the gods now hits theaters march 17, 2023. hope to see you there.

The actress was similarly saddened when a fan pointed out that her previous film, West Side Story, also faced multiple delays before it was finally released last year.
"Believe me, i am very sad," Zegler responded.

Zegler is among the new cast members on Shazam! Fury of the Gods, playing the goddess Anthea. The film pits the Shazam family against the resurrected goddeses Kalypso (Lucy Liu) and Hespera (Dame Helen Mirren).
Returning cast includes Asher Angel and Zachary Levi as Billy Batson / Shazam, plus Jack Dylan Grazer, Grace Caroline Currey, Jack Dylan Grazer and Ian Chen as the other members of the Shazam family as well as Djimon Hounsou as the Wizard who gave Billy his powers.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods will now have a release date of March 17, 2023. The first Shazam movie is available to stream on Prime Video UK.
