Top Gun: Maverick star Miles Teller is set to star in the latest film from Doctor Strange and The Black Phone director Scott Derrickson.
The Wrap reports that Teller has signed on to star in and executive produce The Gorge, which is described as a 'high-action, genre-bending love story.'
Derrickson will direct from a spec script penned by The Tomorrow War writer Zach Dean, while the film will be produced by Skydance Media, which also produced Top Gun: Maverick.

Top Gun: Maverick was released earlier this year, 35 years after the original Top Gun movie. Tom Cruise returned to play Lieutenant Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell, while Teller took on the role of Lieutenant Bradley 'Rooster' Bradshaw – the son of Maverick's old flight partner and friend Goose.
Cruise is of course famous for doing his own stunts in his films and Teller followed suit for Maverick, something he implied he won't be doing again in a hurry.
Speaking to LADbible in June, Teller said he thought he was "going to die" while filming an extreme stunt in an F-18 Hornet jet.
Teller recounted his experience of a max G pull-up in the plane, saying: "You're heading down and at the last second you yank up.
"I think when there's that much adrenaline and a healthy bit of fear, I was able to hold [vomit] down. I guess that's a secret skill I have."
Teller said he's unsure whether he would take on any stunt-heavy roles immediately, saying: "I'm open to it, but also, I've got injured on some films."
He also said that he doesn't want to take work away from stunt performers and values their skill and experience on set.
Top Gun: Maverick is available to watch on platforms including Sky Cinema, NOW and Virgin TV.
