The Electric State is based on the graphic novel of the same name by Simon Stålenhag, focusing on Brown's orphaned teenager as she crosses the American West in a retro-futuristic past alongside a robot and an eccentric drifter to find her brother.
Speaking recently about the project to Digital Spy, Joe Russo explained: "We're trying to keep the story under wraps but, you know, there's a lot of social commentary in the graphic novel – and there is in the film as well. And it's something we're excited about.

"It's a visually stunning movie, and we're working with Dennis Gassner, who's one of the best production designers who's ever lived. He's helping us create the world and the set."
Brown was most recently seen in the fourth season of Stranger Things, while Yeoh starred last year in Marvel's hit Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and more recently multiverse movie Everything Everywhere All at Once. Cox, meanwhile, is due to return for the fourth season of Succession.
The Electric State will stream on Netflix.
