Paranormal Activity's franchise future has been addressed by its boss Jason Blum.
The horror producer revealed that he thought the last instalment of the horror franchise was "terrible" and that "it's time to put them to bed".
"It has been enough already. That last Paranormal Activity movie was terrible," revealed the Blumhouse Productions CEO in an interview with Vanity Fair.

Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin (aka Paranormal Activity 7) was released last year with an eighth movie currently in the works, but it looks like this might be the last as Blum feels the time is right to end the franchise.
"With Halloween, we only had the rights to three movies, so we said: Halloween Ends! It ends for Blumhouse, at least. With other things, you just have this feeling it's time to put them to bed."
However, the producer is open to the possibility of rebooting the franchise in the future if a director he admires wants to take on the task.
"It would come back if some director I love, like Scott Derrickson, said: 'I have a great idea for a Paranormal Activity movie. But it's not something I want to do [at the moment]."

In the same interview, Blum revealed his plans for an Exorcist movie with director Gordon Green at the helm.
"We are getting ready to make it. Hopefully, we will do the same thing with The Exorcist that we did with Halloween – make it in a way that's fresh and worth revisiting. And feels different enough so that people are happy we did it.
"He is very good at respecting intellectual property that already exists and putting a new spin on it," said Blum of the director.
