Cameron Diaz is coming out of acting retirement.
The big news was announced on Wednesday (June 29) to promote her new Netflix movie Back in Action, an action comedy from Horrible Bosses director Seth Gordon.
The project will be the third collaboration between Diaz and Foxx, after previously starring in sports drama Any Given Sunday and the remake of Annie. No plot details have been revealed at this time.

In the video posted on social media, Diaz chats with Foxx on the phone about coming out of retirement. Since Diaz is understandably nervous, Foxx connects her with NFL star Tom Brady — who has come out of retirement a few times.
Aside from a cameo in the 2019 Charlie's Angels reboot, Diaz hasn't acted since the release of three films in 2014 — comedies The Other Woman and Sex Tape as well as the remake of musical Annie.
A few years ago, Diaz opened up to Gwyneth Paltrow for In Goop Health: The Sessions about why she'd walked away from Hollywood in the prime of her career.
"It's a strange thing to say, I know a lot of people won't understand it – I know you understand it – but it was so intense to work at that level and be that public and put yourself out there," she said.
"There's a lot of energy coming at you at all times when you're really visible as an actor and doing press and putting yourself out there."
Netflix has not yet announced a release date for Back in Action.
