Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom star Jason Momoa has landed himself a new leading role in an action comedy movie.
The Hollywood Reporter states that Universal has signed the actor up for Shots! Shots! Shots! It's been described as having shades of Taken, The Lost City and True Lies, while also being a 'family-centric adventure'.
Writers Matt Mider and Kevin Burrows previously scripted Netflix's The Package and the upcoming Home Alone parody Stoned Alone. Production company Rideback were previously behind the Aladdin remake and are working on a new version of Haunted Mansion.

Beyond Shots! Shots! Shots! and the Aquaman sequel, Momoa's upcoming projects include the Netflix fantasy film Slumberland and Fast X, the latest Fast & Furious instalment that's currently filming in London (after undergoing a change in director). An 11th film in the franchise has been confirmed, which is set to be the final.
He's also got The Last Manhunt in the pipeline, a true story based in the last days of the Old West, as well as a live-action movie adaptation of Minecraft.

During the filming of Fast X, Momoa went to Italy to film some scenes and ended up sharing some Instagram photos taken inside the Vatican City chapel — where photography is banned.

He since offered an apology stating that he had asked permission and made a sizeable donation to the church.
"So, I was very respectful and I asked for permission for, what I thought, would be okay. I would never want to do anything to disrespect someone's culture, so if I did, I apologise," he wrote. "I love you. I'm sorry if I offended you."
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom currently has a release date of March 17, 2023.
