Black Bolt actor Anson Mount has broken his silence on his surprise Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness cameo.
During Doctor Strange 2, Mordo, the Sorcerer Supreme on Earth-838, takes Stephen Strange to the Illuminati, a secret society led by Patrick Stewart's Professor Charles Xavier.
Among its ranks are Reed Richards (John Krasinski), Captain Marvel (Lashana Lynch), Captain Carter (Hayley Atwell) and Black Bolt, played by Anson Mount in the now-defunct ABC series Marvel’s Inhumans.
Two weeks after the film's initial release, Mount has finally broken his silence over his unexpected cameo in the MCU blockbuster.
He confessed on Twitter: "Finally able to discuss this w/out providing too many spoilers. Getting the call from @Kevfeige was one of the most unexpected of my life," he said.

Black Bolt doesn't have any lines in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. But the character is at the centre of one of the movie's most shocking moments.

When Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) faces off with the Illuminati, Black Bolt attempts to use his ballistic scream to apprehend her. However, with Wanda having sealed his mouth closed, the scream ends up trapped in his skull, killing him instantly.
Mount has since become best known for his role as Captain Christopher Pike in Paramount+'s Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
Meanwhile, it was recently revealed that Deadpool almost made an appearance in the movie. Writer Michael Waldron told ComicBook in a recent interview: "I think we talked about everything in this movie.
"So, [it] would've been crazy to not raise that, but it ultimately didn't feel like... It just didn't feel the right place. But yeah, of course we talked about it."
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is out now in UK and US cinemas.
