Sonic the Hedgehog 2 voice actor Colleen O'Shaughnessey wasn't expecting to be invited back as Tails.
She's owned the role of this two-tailed fox in the Sonic franchise since 2014, but despite a semi-synonymousness with the character now, O'Shaughnessey feared she could be superseded by a Hollywood megastar in any big screen projects.
During an exclusive chat with Digital Spy, when asked whether she knew she would be coming back for the sequel, she said: "I had no idea. Probably part of me assumed that I wouldn't because typically voice actors get replaced by celebrities.

"I was so excited to do the credit scene [in Sonic the Hedgehog], that was so much fun, but I had no allusions that I would do the second, but I'm so thrilled that I am."
O'Shaughnessey, whose voice has also graced anime titles Digimon and Naruto, went on to reveal whether her latest Tails work is different to what's gone before.

"It's the same in that I approach the character in the same way. What's different is the circumstances and it's cinematic, so it's bigger, but the performance is more grounded and more serious," she said.
"You have a director like Jeff Fowler who guides you through and helps you hit all the moments the way that is fitting for the movie, as opposed to the games.

"It's more about what's happening in this movie and where we meet Tails, and his relationship with Sonic and where it's coming from. The previous things, they already had an established relationship whereas this is new."
Let's hope she's involved for a third time!
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is out now in UK cinemas, with its US release coming on April 8.
