The new horror movie, X, starring Grey’s Anatomy's Martin Henderson, has scored a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

All 26 critics to date have raved about Ti West's new movie and his flair for the genre as he successfully brings together a host of famous faces for this chilling 70s thriller.

Set in 1979, the movie follows a handful of young filmmakers as they arrive on location to shoot an adult film.

However, they're caught in the act by the creepy old man who lives next door who reveals there's something wrong with his wife.

What to Read Next

It seems that A24, the studio that created Hereditary and Midsommar, have delivered yet another sinister success, as critics can't fault it.

One Rotten Tomatoes critic wrote: "The expectations for West's return to film were high, and luckily X brings this master of horror back with a bang."

Another added: "Ti West's X delivers big on slasher-style thrills, but also adds in a shockingly powerful examination of ageing, the power of beauty, and what happens when one loses that power."

A third penned: "This delightfully dark and surprisingly complex flick feels unbelievably fresh.

"Its influences inspire innovation rather than shackling X to the other derivative tropes we've come to expect from 70s throwback horror."

Alongside Virgin River star Henderson, the cast includes Pitch Perfect star Brittany Snow, Jenna Ortega (You, Jane the Virgin), Mia Goth (Nymphomaniac, Emma), Stephen Ure (The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Ash vs Evil Dead) and Scott 'Kid Cudi' Mescudi (Don't Look Up, Bill & Ted Face the Music).

X is set for a US release on March 18. Details of a UK release are yet to be confirmed.
