Robert Downey Jr is teaming up with Iron Man 3 director Shane Black once again for new crime movie, Play Dirty.
Deadline reports that Downey Jr and his wife Susan Downey, under their Team Downey banner, are embarking on a wider collaboration with producer Joel Silver and Amazon Studios to develop a series of movie and TV adaptations.
These projects will be based on Donald E Westlake's Parker crime novel series, which was written under the pseudonym Richard Stark.

Play Dirty is the first title to be made under this deal and will star Marvel actor Downey Jr as Parker, a highly efficient, deadly and ruthless professional thief who isn't afraid to do whatever it takes to escape a job with the prize.
The Parker character has previously served as the basis for films including Parker with Jason Statham, Payback with Mel Gibson and The Outfit with Robert Duvall.

Black has adapted the screenplay for the movie alongside Jekyll's Charles Mondry and The Nice Guys writer Anthony Bagarozzi, and he will also direct the film. Silver, meanwhile, will produce alongside Robert Downey Jr, Susan Downey, Marc Toberoff and Ezra Emanuel.
It is not yet known how many Parker adaptations the team will work on together, but Westlake wrote 24 novels featuring the character as the main protagonist, so there will be plenty of stories for them to choose from.

Downey Jr has now hung up his Iron Man costume, seemingly for good, following the events of the epic Avengers: Endgame, but the actor recently dropped a new piece of information about his final Marvel movie.
"I had so many alt lines that I wanted to put forward," he said of Tony Stark's now-famous final line, 'I am Iron Man'. "They were all super smart-ass lines like I was trying, you know, say stuff like 'you are so f**ked' or whatever... I was going to say 'oh snap!'"
However, he concluded that these alternate lines were "too smartass" and praised the eventual line that made it into the movie, saying: "We love a bookend."
Play Dirty currently has no confirmed release date. Avengers: Endgame is out now on DVD, Blu-ray, 3D, 4K and digital download, and is available on Disney+.
