Robert Pattinson wants to appear in Dune Part Two

Robert Pattinson has revealed that he'd like to star in Dune: Part Two.

While discussing his fondness for The Batman director Matt Reeves, Pattinson named the movie sequels he would like to appear in – including Reeves' Planet of the Apes.

Speaking to Variety, he said: "I love those Apes movies so much.

"There's only been two movies – well, three now – where I wanted to do a sequel: the Apes movies, Sicario and Dune."

Pattinson added: "I saw both of the Apes movies in the cinema and I just thought what he could do with mo-cap was just so unbelievable. If he could do that with a monkey's face, then he can get a performance out of me as well."

As for Dune, director Denis Villeneuve has probably already finished casting for the sequel – due out in October 2023 – but given filming is expected to begin in the summer, there may still be time for Pattinson to join.

Villeneuve recently outlined what to expect from Dune: Part Two and where the focus of the story will be.

"When you adapt, you have to make bold choices in order for the things to come to life. And I think that was the best way to introduce this world to a wide audience," he explained to Empire.

"Now in the second one, I want to have more flexibility, and it will be possible to go a little bit deeper into some of these details.

"Some new characters will be introduced in the second part and a decision I made very early on was that this first part would be more about Paul Atreides and the Bene Gesserit, and his experience of being in contact for the first time with a different culture. Second part, there will be much more Harkonnen stuff."
