Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo have reunited for new film The Adam Project, but they haven't forgotten their roots.

While promoting The Adam Project, the pair spoke about the legacy of 13 Going on 30 and shared their idea for a potential sequel of the classic rom-com, which sees Garner's Jenna Rink making a wish on her 13th birthday before waking up the next day as a 30-year-old woman.

Speaking on Good Morning America, Garner and Ruffalo spoke about the possibility of a sequel 18 years after the original movie came out.

Ruffalo said: "Now would be a great time to make a sequel to 13 Going on 30," while Garner chimed in to say: "Yeah, we were thinking maybe 50 Going on 80."

Ruffalo then joked that they could come back in 10 years to do '65 Going on 90' and that the pair could "franchise the hell out of this."

Though the film is incredibly popular, and it doesn't seem like its stars would be reticent to doing a sequel, it is unlikely one of their ideas will come to fruition on screen any time soon.

Their newest project is nothing like 13 Going on 30, seeing Garner and Ruffalo playing a married couple whose time-travelling son Adam (Ryan Reynolds) accidentally crash lands in 2022 and has to team up with his younger self to save the future.

He originally went into the past to find Laura, the woman he loves, who is played by Ruffalo's Marvel co-star Zoe Saldaña.

While they try to figure out how to get Reynolds back to the future, they also try to unravel the mystery of what happened to Laura, and whether she is okay.

The movie will be released on Netflix on March 11, and sees Reynolds reuniting with Free Guy director Shawn Levy.
