Spider-Man: No Way Home spoilers follow.
Spider-Man star Tom Holland says he's taking a break from acting before he embarks on another movie, Marvel outing or not.
While promoting his latest film Uncharted recently, the Peter Parker actor was asked how he felt about the success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, and whether he plans on putting the suit back on again anytime soon in an attempt to capitalise on it.

"I am going back to shoot a TV show for Apple, which I'm really excited about... But I can confidently say that after I finish that TV show, I will be taking a break," he told CinePOP, referencing The Crowded Room and suggesting that fans will have to wait a little while before they see him get up to any more superhero shenanigans.

Since making his debut as Spidey in 2016's Captain America: Civil War, the 25-year-old has played the webslinger in follow-ups Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, on top of fronting the character's solo trilogy. In between his Marvel projects and aforementioned video game adaptation, he's shot The Devil All the Time, Cherry and Chaos Walking, and lent his voice to Dolittle and Disney's Onward. So it's far to say, he's earned some time off.
Aside from his likely need to rest, Holland also believes it's crucial for the character to go away for a brief time, too, and return – if he does return – with a clear sense of direction.
"I think, for me, as the guy that plays Spider-Man... I think what's important is that he needs to take a break," he told CBM back in December 2021. "We need to allow the audiences to let him breathe and figure out tonally how we're going to bring this character back, if we bring this character back.
"You know, I think him popping up for a cameo would defeat the purpose.... I think what we need to do with Spider-Man is let it breathe and almost let the audience tell us what they want."
If Holland's Peter does make a comeback, it'll be interesting to see where he goes given the events at the very end of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
After besting the likes of Sandman (Thomas Haden Church), Electro (Jamie Foxx) and Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe), Peter begs Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to reverse his multiverse-wrecking spell by casting another one: one that'd make everyone – and we really mean, everyone – forget that he's Spider-Man... and that, well, they ever even knew him.
With no allies or pals, where might Spidey's story go from there?
Spider-Man: Far From Home is available now on DVD, Blu-ray and digital download. Spider-Man: No Way Home is out now in UK and US cinemas.
