Encanto co-director Jared Bush has addressed a so-called plot hole in the Disney movie concerning Mirabel's glasses.
The heartwarming reveal comes after some fans questioned why the main character wears glasses when her mother Julieta has the magical power to heal.
Responding to a BBC video report on a girl who wrote to Disney a few years ago asking for a heroine with glasses, Bush revealed that he had to keep tight-lipped on the fact it was becoming a reality before Encanto was unveiled.

"3 years ago, Lowri wrote [to] Disney asking for a heroine with glasses," he tweeted. "I couldn't say that her wish was already coming true!"
Bush then explained: "BUT watch the clip for the answer to a big question: Why doesn't Julieta 'fix' Mirabel or Agustín's eyesight. It's who they are and she wouldn't want to change it."
In said clip, Lowri explains that growing up in a family where she was the only one to wear glasses made her feel like she wasn't "beautiful enough" and so she is thrilled that young boys and girls now have a role model to look up to.
It comes after star Stephanie Beatriz recently addressed a fan theory over why Mirabel didn't receive a gift during a chat with Digital Spy.
Speaking on the idea that her character wasn't bestowed with magical powers because she wiped her hand after touching the candle prior to opening her door, Beatriz responded: "I think that's purely because she's nervous and sweaty, which is a trait that I also have in spades.
"I'm nervous and sweaty all the time. I absolutely think that's really special, that people are paying such close attention that they're looking at little things like that.

"If you really do a close listen to those lyrics, oftentimes it's just right there. It's written out there. The miracle is you – all of you, all of you. That line gets repeated a couple of times. And that line could be read a couple of different ways, right?
"All of you – pointing to a group of people. The miracle is all of you guys, right? And the miracle is also all of you – all of who you are; all the parts of you is the miracle. There's no one alive that's ever been just like you, and there won't be again."
She added: "You are special, in and of the fact that you exist in this moment, in this world, in this life. You're the miracle, you know? I think it's pretty neat."
