The Suicide Squad's Viola Davis has unveiled two exciting first-look images from her upcoming movie The Woman King.

Billed as an historical epic, the film – which is set in The Kingdom of Dahomey, one of Africa's most powerful states throughout the 18th and 19th centuries – tells the story of army general Nanisca (Davis), and soldier Nawi (The Underground Railroad's Thuso Mbedu), who fought those who sort to oppress their people.

On February 1, the first day of Black History Month, Davis took to Twitter to share the stills, which you can check out below.
