Since its release, Encanto fans have been endlessly debating why Mirabel is the one Madrigal family member to not receive a gift.
There have been numerous theories about it, including the rather harsh reason that she just didn't have a defining trait. One particular theory has gained traction though after a fan spotted she wiped her hand after touching the candle and before opening her door.
Could that be why she didn't receive a gift? Maybe the Casita thought her wiping her hand was disrespectful.
Talking to Digital Spy for the release of Catwoman: Hunted, Encanto star Stephanie Beatriz has responded to the theory, and has her own heartwarming version of why Mirabel didn't get a gift.
"I think that's purely because she's nervous and sweaty, which is a trait that I also have in spades. I'm nervous and sweaty all the time. I absolutely think that's really special, that people are paying such close attention that they're looking at little things like that," she explained.

"If you really do a close listen to those lyrics, oftentimes it's just right there. It's written out there. The miracle is you – all of you, all of you. That line gets repeated a couple of times. And that line could be read a couple of different ways, right?
"All of you – pointing to a group of people. The miracle is all of you guys, right? And the miracle is also all of you – all of who you are; all the parts of you is the miracle. There's no one alive that's ever been just like you, and there won't be again."

Beatriz concluded: "You are special, in and of the fact that you exist in this moment, in this world, in this life. You're the miracle, you know? I think it's pretty neat."
We're sold too – and now we have to rewatch Encanto yet again.
