Netflix has finally offered up a first proper look at The Adam Project, an upcoming sci-fi movie that'll see Deadpool's Ryan Reynolds share the screen with Marvel stars Mark Ruffalo and Zoe Saldana.
Written by Banshee's Jonathan Tropper and directed by Shawn Levy, who fairly recently worked with Reynolds on video game-inspired action comedy Free Guy, the film follows a 12-year-old named Adam Reed (Walker Scobell), who's still grieving the sudden death of his father one year earlier.

One night, he stumbles into his garage and discovers an older version of himself. Turns out, he's returned from a future where people have just started figuring out how to time travel to carry out a secret mission – and he needs the youngster's help to do it.
Alex Mallari Jr, Catherine Keener and Jennifer Garner round out the supporting cast.
In one of the four stills unveiled by the streaming platform on Monday (January 31), Reynolds – who plays adult Adam – can be seen standing next to Saldana's character Laura, Adam's lover who got lost in the time-space continuum under mysterious circumstances.

Details on her are yet to be announced, but she certainly looks like she means business, if the big gun she's holding up in the snap is anything to go by.
In another, Adam can be seen wistfully glancing at Garner, who stars as Adam's mother – from the present, of course, as Garner and Reynolds are around the same age.
Ruffalo makes an appearance in feature in the third image, while the fourth is of Reynolds and Scobell sharing a moment, as adult Adam tends to a wound on his side.

"You have this central character who has told himself a story about his own father that isn't necessarily true," Reynolds explained to Vanity Fair recently. "I've told myself stories to justify things about my father and the complicated relationship I had with him before he passed.
"Reconciling that is really difficult."
The Adam Project is set to be released on Netflix on March 11.
