Marvel's Falcon and the Winter Soldier star Sebastian Stan has addressed whether Bucky Barnes will cameo in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
The Doctor Strange sequel has a tall task in front of it, having to truly delve into the origins of the hugely complex Marvel Multiverse while also, seemingly, introducing multiple variants of the Sorcerer Supreme.
On top of this multiversal madness, Collider recently reported there are "a lot of cameos in the Doctor Strange sequel" – raising the question of which MCU characters we should expect, if it's true.
Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda already is set to play a central role in the film, so what about other Avengers? At least according to a recent interview with Sebastian Stan, fans probably shouldn't expect to see Bucky Barnes.
"I am not in Doctor Strange 2. I promise," he insisted.
His answer sounds definitive, but we did just spend over a year with Andrew Garfield vehemently denying he's in Spider-Man: No Way Home, didn't we?

"Per usual, I can't answer that question," he admitted to Collider. "I have no clue, but look, I think it's sort of about seeing what's next for him, right? To some extent, the show, I felt, really graduated him to another level of experience and taking on his past a lot better and gave him another sense of place and sense of family that he's found there with Sam.
"So he's in a pretty good spot right now. I'd be curious to see what the next interesting thing that we could tell with him would be, and as you well know, that is above my pay grade. There are far wiser men and women who are making those decisions."
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is due to be released on May 5, 2022.
