Final Destination 6 looks to be back on the road after picking up a new passenger in the form of Spider-Man: No Way Home director Jon Watts.
It has been announced that Watts has signed on as a producer for the film, alongside his wife Dianne McGunigle, after writing the treatment and story.
Studio New Line is once again producing the movie and it has been revealed that it will be an HBO Max original release.

Writing the screenplay are Lori Evans Taylor and Guy Busick, who recently worked on the upcoming Scream film, while the producer of the previous movies in the franchise Craig Perry is also returning.
In a statement, Watts said: "Both Dianne and I have been massive fans of Final Destination from the very beginning.
"So to be able to have a hand in crafting a new story with the original team and New Line is going to be both fun and exciting."
Perry added: "Jon and Dianne's passion for the series is only matched by how much fun they are to work with.
"Sheila and I couldn't be more excited to have their creative energy driving this latest instalment in the Final Destination franchise with New Line. With Guy and Lori's inspired execution of Jon's original idea, we have a movie that audiences are gonna love."
Final Destination 6 was first announced to be in development in January 2019 and it was reported that Saw writers Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan were working on the reboot.
Then in March 2020, Perry revealed some plot details exclusively to Digital Spy.
"We're toying with having it take place in the world of first responders: EMTs, firemen and police," he said. "These people deal with death on the front lines every day, and make choices that can cause people to live or die.
"We rely on their good judgement, expertise and calm demeanour. So why not put those people in the nightmare situation where every choice can bring about life and death – but now for themselves?
"We're thinking that world might be an interesting way into a Final Destination movie, and one which can also generate unique set pieces in a very credible way."
Spider-Man: Far From Home is available now on DVD, Blu-ray and digital download. Spider-Man: No Way Home is out now in UK and US cinemas.
