Marvel boss on how Captain America Civil War changed MCU's future

Marvel boss Kevin Feige has revealed how Captain America: Civil War changed the MCU's future, paving the way for Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Speaking to Collider, Feige shared how Civil War showed him that films with a big ensemble cast were not only possible to make but also what the fans wanted to see.

"I think that going back to [Captain America] Civil War, sort of having an idea for a movie that is based entirely on what actors and what characters that we can get to work together and shoot on a single day," Feige said.

"When that worked, it gave us the ambition for movies like Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame. I would include No Way Home into that level of ambition for sure."

While we're still not exactly sure who will pop up in No Way Home, fans clamouring to see characters from Netflix's Marvel shows in the MCU have been given some hope by Feige.

Earlier this week, he said when asked about whether Netflix Marvel characters could return: "I always say that whenever a character comes back into the Marvel sandbox, it becomes another tool in the storytelling ability of the MCU.

"As I said before, the good news is, all will be revealed when people actually finally watch."

Feige has also confirmed that Charlie Cox is Marvel's Daredevil despite the end of his Netflix series.

"Where we see that, how we see that, when we see that, remains to be seen."

Spider-Man: Far From Home is available now on DVD, Blu-ray and digital download. Spider-Man: No Way Home is released in UK cinemas on December 15 and in US cinemas on December 17.
