The Matrix Resurrections theory confirmed by unexpected source

The Matrix Resurrections still has a few unsolved mysteries ahead of its release – but one theory has finally been confirmed.

Sati was a program in one of the subplots of Revolutions. She was due to be deleted because she didn't have a defined purpose, before her parents made a deal with the Merovingian to save her.

There has been widespread speculation about Sati's return in the upcoming fourth instalment, and The White Tiger's Priyanka Chopra was rumoured to be playing the grown-up version of the enigmatic little girl.

In the trailer, there was a glimpse of Chopra reading Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass, and many assumed this was the adult Sati.

Now, the rumours have finally been confirmed in an Instagram post (via Den of Geek) from Warner Bros Korea.

The post included an official photo of Chopra as Sati, captioned: "#사티ㅣ#프리앙카초프라" which translates as "#Sati | #Priyanka Chopra."

She joins the all-star cast that had already been confirmed, including the OG Matrix stars Keanu Reeves, Jada Pinkett Smith and Carrie-Anne Moss as Neo, Niobe and Trinity respectively. Lambert Wilson will also return as The Merovingian, alongside Daniel Bernhardt as Agent Johnson.

Plus, the new cast members joining for Resurrections include Game of Thrones' Jessica Henwick as Bugs, Sense8's Eréndira Ibarra as Lexy and How I Met Your Mother's Neil Patrick Harris.

Harris' role has not yet been officially confirmed, but the trailer depicts him speaking to Neo like he's his psychotherapist. However, some fans have speculated that Harris is actually the Oracle in "a virtual disguise" or a "new incarnation of the Oracle".

Aquaman's Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is also joining the cast as Morpheus, who was played by Laurence Fishburne in the original franchise.

The Matrix 4 is scheduled for release on December 22, 2021 in cinemas and on HBO Max in the US.
