Wonder Woman 3 will officially bring back Lynda Carter's Amazonian legend Asteria.
Carter, as fans of old-school superhero fare already know, was the star of the 1970s Wonder Woman TV show, but came in for a post-credits cameo appearance as Asteria in last year's Wonder Woman 1984.
Catching up with The Hollywood Reporter during her press tour of Netflix's Red Notice, Gadot, Diana Prince herself, admitted that "it means the world" to her that Carter is onboard the trilogy-closer.

"First of all, Lynda has mentored me from the very first moment that I got cast as Wonder Woman. She was always there, talking to me, giving me tips and everything.

"She's a true champion of what Patty [Jenkins, director] and I have been doing, and it was so great that we managed to find the right opportunity to bring her to the last movie and now to the third one," she added.
"It's even better this time. I love her very much. I love her dearly."
Last week, the leading actress also confirmed that the third movie is in the scripting stage.

"We're working on the script," she teased to Variety, before joking that she'd probably be kidnapped if she let go of any specifics.
Nothing more specific about the release of the third movie just yet, though Patty Jenkins previously labelled 1984's simultaneous HBO Max release as a "heartbreaking experience", explaining during a CinemaCon panel in Las Vegas: "It was the best choice in a bunch of bad choices at the moment. It was detrimental to the movie.
"I don't think it plays the same on streaming, ever. I'm not a fan of day-and-date and I hope to avoid it forever. I make movies for the big-screen experience."
