Venom: Let There Be Carnage's returning lead actor Tom Hardy may have inadvertently blown the whistle on a Spider-Man crossover.
The alien symbiote and wall-crawler's shared history dates all the way back to 1984 in Marvel Comics' The Amazing Spider-Man #252, but they've only done battle once on the big screen (Topher Grace vs Tobey Maguire in Spider-Man 3).
Now, thanks to a Spider-Man: No Way Home production cap of all things, it's quite possible that Hardy and Tom Holland's versions will meet this Christmas.

The Eddie Brock/Venom star appears in a picture donning this cap, although it's unclear when and where exactly it was taken.
Thirsty for this blockbuster encounter to materialise, this teasery shot – is Hardy just winding us all up? Was he sent the apparel in the post? – is enough evidence for many fans.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage opens in cinemas on October 1 in the US and October 15 in the UK. Spider-Man: No Way Home has a December 17, 2021 release date.
