Sony has officially rebranded its Marvel character movies that are not part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The studio oversees the likes of Venom, Morbius and Kraven the Hunter, but has also worked with Marvel Studios on Tom Holland's Spider-Man outings.
While it had previously labelled its comics output 'Sony Pictures' Universe of Marvel Characters', it revealed at CinemaCon yesterday (August 24) that it has now officially repackaged its non-MCU outings as 'Sony's Spider-Man Universe'.

While this doesn't confirm that everyone's favourite webslinger will crossover with the likes of Tom Hardy's Venom, it's certainly a heavy hint, especially as upcoming movie Spider-Man: No Way Home is Holland's last contracted solo movie with Marvel.
Speaking earlier this year about his Marvel future, Holland admitted: "[No Way Home] would be my last one [under contract] so I've always said to them if they want me back, I'll be there in a heartbeat.
"I've loved every minute of being a part of this amazing world. It's changed my life for the better, I'm so lucky to be here."

He added: "If they don't, I will walk off into the sunset a very, very happy person because it's been an amazing journey."
However, Sony's rebrand could equally suggest that another iteration of Spider-Man will come into play, such as Miles Morales, or it may just be a neater branding exercise to tie-in all the characters around the hugely popular Spidey.
Either way, we'll be watching this (web) space.
Spider-Man: Far From Home is available now on DVD, Blu-ray and digital download. Spider-Man: No Way Home has a December 17, 2021 release date. Venom: Let There Be Carnage opens in cinemas on October 15 in the UK and the US.
