Shazam! Fury of the Gods is currently filming, and pictures from the set have revealed that one star from the first film is making a perhaps unexpected return.
Djimon Hounsou, who has appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain Marvel and Aquaman, starred in the first Shazam! as a previous incarnation of the character who gives the power to its current wielder, Billy Batson. Now, a behind-the-scenes photos has confirmed his return.

Hounsou's character died in the first movie, so a return for the sequel wasn't on our list of expectations. Of course, being a superhero movie, it's not something we're hugely surprised by, as revivals happen all the time. Alternatively, this could be a flashback role, but we'll have to wait to find out.
One person who definitely won't be returning is Mark Strong, who played villain Doctor Sivana in the first film.
"You're not going to see me in the sequel," he said recently. "Finally, I'm finally allowed to say it. I've had to sort of bite my tongue for so long... [I'm] very happy to give way to Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu (new villains Hespera and Kalypso, respectively)."
