Blade star is "embarrassed" for Scarlett Johansson over Black Widow

Stephen Dorff may have starred in a comic-book movie with Blade, but it doesn't seem like he's a fan of the genre.

Speaking to The Independent, the True Detective season 3 actor looked at the next Marvel Cinematic Universe film Black Widow and made no secret of his negative feelings towards it.

He said: "I still hunt out the good shit because I don't want to be in Black Widow.

"It looks like garbage to me. It looks like a bad video game. I'm embarrassed for those people. I'm embarrassed for Scarlett [Johansson]. I'm sure she got paid five, seven million bucks, but I'm embarrassed for her.

"I don't want to be in those movies. I really don't. I'll find that kid director that's gonna be the next Kubrick and I'll act for him instead."

Expanding on his point further later in the interview, Dorff said: "To me, Hollywood's always too safe. When I've needed money, sure, I've done a couple of weeks on a movie that I didn't wanna do. See, I like money too, because I like to buy things and I like art and real estate."

Stephen Dorff may not like Black Widow, but most reviews of the film are positive.

We at Digital Spy had no issue with the action, but feel like it doesn't have the emotional impact that it should.

Black Widow is out in cinemas on July 7 in the UK and on Disney+ with Premier Access on July 9. In the US it will be released on July 9 both in cinemas and on Disney+ with Premier Access.
