Black Widow's first solo film is finally right around the corner, but it's kind of bittersweet because it's most likely Scarlett Johansson's final live-action outing as the character considering she died in Avengers: Endgame.

It was a moment that has really divided fans, with some feeling disappointed that the Marvel Cinematic Universe's first female Avenger was the one to die, while others appreciated how tragic it was.

What to Read Next

Scarlett Johansson has spoken out about the mixed reactions to the death, in a behind-the-scenes video for Entertainment Tonight.

Talking about Natasha's death, the actress said: "It's funny because I've had mixed reactions for her ultimate fate in Endgame, but, for me it made so much sense that she would sacrifice herself, not for the greater good of humanity, but for her friends, which were really at that heart of it."

Black Widow's solo outing is set after Captain America: Civil War and before Avengers: Infinity War, and sees Natasha teaming up with some faces from her pre-Avenging days to defeat a new villain called Taskmaster.
