Wonder Woman 1984 director Patty Jenkins has confirmed that the long-awaited superhero sequel will have a post-credits scene.
While appearing as a guest on CinemaBlend's ReelBlend podcast, the filmmaker gave a definitive 'yes' when asked whether the film would follow in the footsteps of Justice League, Aquaman and countless other Marvel movies, which have teased what's to come from the franchise at the very end of that particular instalment.

When quizzed on why the sequence was omitted from press screeners, Jenkins went to explain that she wanted it to "be something to save for the audience," and to ensure that it remained as much of a surprise as possible until the film is finally released.
"Just because, God forbid somebody writes about it, you're like, 'Well, then what fun was it? Now we should have just attached it to the end of the movie,'" she added, ensuring that the scene will be present on both theatrical and streaming versions.

In Wonder Woman 1984, Gadot's Diana Prince finds herself having to face off against two baddies: business tycoon Maxwell Lord (played by The Mandalorian's Pedro Pascal) and shy gemologist Barbara Minerva (Kristen Wiig), aka Cheetah.
Fortunately, she has help in the form of Chris Pine's Steve Trevor, who's set to make a mysterious comeback in the follow-up despite sacrificing himself during World War I in the original film.
Wonder Woman 1984 will be released in cinemas and HBO Max simultaneously on December 25, 2020 in the US. It will be shown in some UK cinemas from December 16.
