Bette Midler just gave fans the most intriguing update yet on the long-awaited Hocus Pocus sequel, with the original star all but confirming her involvement with the upcoming Disney+ project.

Midler – who played Winifred Sanderson in the '90s classic – recently revealed that she was "absolutely" up for reprising her role as one of the spooky sisters, but came short of officially announcing anything.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Bette gave a pretty heavy-handed hint that she would indeed be re-mounting her broom in the near future, saying: "I can't wait to fly!"

"Oh, yeah," she added, before playing down her excitement. "We're just talking logistics."

In an equally magical update, the writer of Hocus Pocus not long ago hinted that the original cast will return for the upcoming sequel. There is a caveat, however.

Mark Garris isn't actually involved in the sequel himself, but suggested that Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy would all be reprising their roles as witches Winnie, Sarah, and Mary, respectively.

Teasing that the cult classic's original line-up would be returning for the new movie, Garris admitted he had "heard that that is what's happening".

The Sanderson Sisters certainly seem to be up to something – and even if they're not, at least there's that new Hocus Pocus Blu-ray available to pre-order. Happy Halloween, folks!
