No Time to Die marks the final outing for Daniel Craig as 007, so it's inevitable that talk has turned to who could replace him.

Talking to Variety, long-time James Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson revealed that they haven't started the search for the new 007, but did tease that they could be looking abroad.

"You think of him as being from Britain or the Commonwealth, but Britain is a very diverse place," Wilson noted.

However, Broccoli reiterated that there won't be a female Bond and for a very good reason. "He can be of any colour, but he is male. I believe we should be creating new characters for women – strong female characters," she explained.

"I'm not particularly interested in taking a male character and having a woman play it. I think women are far more interesting than that."

That shouldn't be a surprise for Bond fans as Broccoli has said similar before, noting that he "was written as a male and I think he'll probably stay as a male".
