Zack Snyder has cleared up a big mystery lingering over his 2017 superhero epic Justice League.

If you cast your mind back, there was a moment in the trailer – which was eventually cut from the final film – where Bruce Wayne stared longingly at a digital projection of somebody, and many fans have speculated about who it could have been.

Superman? Supergirl? Green Lantern?!

Now, director Snyder himself has offered a short-but-sweet explanation on his preferred social media platform Vero.

As spotted by Reddit user 'BeenTryin', the filmmaker wrote in response to the question: "Superman projected by cyborg" – effectively putting this mystery to bed.

What to Read Next

Whether or not this interesting reveal means a Justice League sequel is more or less likely is anyone's guess, but it's always nice to see Snyder getting involved in answering fan theories.

Meanwhile, the 53-year-old previously confirmed that the comics character Ryan Choi was deleted from the theatrical cut of his Worlds of DC movie.

As fans will know, Choi is a protégé of Ray Palmer (aka Cyborg) in the source material and eventually takes on the role of superhero Atom.
