Those "damn dirty apes" just won't leave us alone, as Disney is said to be working on a new Planet of the Apes film.
It's only been two years since trilogy-closer War for the Planet of the Apes swung onto cinema screens – starring Andy Serkis in another famous mo-cap role as Caesar – but it looks like Fox (now owned by Disney) is keen on revisiting one of its prized franchises already.

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, it's not clear whether this will be an extension of Serkis' hairy blockbusters (also including Rise of the Planet of the Apes and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) or just a complete reboot.
What we do know is that The Maze Runner director Wes Ball is attached to this one, and yesterday (December 3) he celebrated his involvement by posting a behind-the-scenes image from another Planet of the Apes film.
With four Planet of the Apes films made since 2001 (Tim Burton and Mark Wahlberg gave it a good go), it remains to be seen if another movie is just simian overload.

Meanwhile, back in 2017 following the release of War, director Matt Reeves hinted that a fourth instalment could be on the cards.
But with Reeves now knee-deep in The Batman preparation and Serkis calling the shots on Venom 2, it seems likely that Disney will start from scratch again.
