For a while. it looked like the almost mythological 'Snyder Cut' of Justice League was going to happen.

Stars Jason Momoa, Gal Gadot, Ray Fisher and Ben Affleck have tweeted about it, and the May 2020 launch of HBO Max seems like the perfect opportunity to release it at a lower cost and get the rabid fans signed up.

But a recent report has suggested that there is "little appetite" at Warner Bros for it, and that it would cost millions of dollars to finish up the visual effects (when Momoa says he's seen the cut, it might be safe to assume it's a very rough cut).

Is that the final nail in the coffin for the unreleased original vision of the movie? Well, a fan asked director Zack Snyder to "say something" about the cut, since he was "losing hope".

"Don't," replied Snyder. Does he know something we don't about Warner Bros' longer-term plans, or is he just asking fans to keep the dream alive on the off-chance the studio will eventually relent?
