Friends stars on Instagram is the gift that keeps on giving. We've had Jennifer Anniston breaking the internet, Big Bang Theory crossovers and Courteney Cox in a hot tub with David Beckham.

And for Halloween this year, the Monica actress went above and beyond by posting a Scream throwback video that has proven to be terrifying on so many levels.

In the footage below, Courteney reveals to her followers that she's getting into the spirit of things by watching slasher flick Scream 3 – aka, the one where her character Gale Weathers has a terrible fringe.

"I noticed that Gale Weathers has those infamous bangs," she jokes. "I don't think anything's that wrong with it, check it out. I think they're cool."

Turning to the TV screen showing her character's questionable hairdo, she then switches the camera back around and proceeds to cut her own hair with a blunt pair of scissors.
