Wonder Woman 1984 director Patty Jenkins has finally confirmed the long-speculated supervillain role of Pedro Pascal.
And folks, you've been right since the summer of 2018 when Jenkins revealed a sneak peek at Pascal's character – yes, he IS playing ruthless businessman Maxwell Lord, who in the comics uses metahuman powers to control people's minds.
The Kingsman actor's role was confirmed by Jenkins herself today (October 24).

The filmmaker shared a picture of the DC Comics villain on Twitter, with the caption: "Well hello...Max."
"Pedro Pascal is playing Maxwell Lord? Awesome," reacted one fan.
"DC is about to have a very different, much more violent snap," wrote someone else, referring to *spoilers* the moment from the comic books when Wonder Woman snaps Max's neck.

Elsewhere, the highly-anticipated first trailer of Wonder Woman 1984 will be revealed at Comic Con Experience in São Paulo on December 8 before its online release, where Jenkins and Gal Gadot will be attending a panel. The whole event will be livestreamed on Twitter.
Wonder Woman's sequel was originally scheduled to premiere this November, but has been pushed back for a June 2020 release.
Original cast members Chris Pine, Robin Wright and Connie Nielsen are all back in the sequel, alongside newcomers Pascal and Kristen Wiig.
Wonder Woman 1984 will be released on June 5, 2020.
