Thor: Ragnarok is the best solo Marvel movie and anyone who says otherwise is wrong. The reason why it was so bloody good was down to What We Do in the Shadows co-director and madman Taika Waititi.
Marvel Studios has now signed him on to direct the fourth Thor movie, which is absolutely the best thing it's done since... well, Spider-Man: Far From Home's credit sequences, which was like two weeks ago.
The Hollywood Reporter confirmed the news and added that the move may have put a spanner in the works for the live-action Akira, as Warner Bros is keen to keep Waititi on as director even if it has to delay the film further.

Avengers: Endgame ended up with Thor regaining his confidence after years of being in a rut, and deciding to join Peter Quill and the other Guardians of the Galaxy, so there's plenty of places that he could end up in his fourth solo outing.
The director's next project is called Jojo Rabbit, a strange Nazi satire in which he plays an imagined version of Adolf Hitler (and which also stars Scarlett Johansson). That one opens on October 18.
