While you may know James Gunn best for his Guardians of the Galaxy films, he made his directorial debut in the cult horror movie Slither.
Now he's combining superheroes and horror to produce a new film, Brightburn, which imagines what would happen if a Superman-like alien came to Earth with the intention not of saving the day, but something much more sinister and frightening.
In the exclusive Digital Spy clip above, we see the film turning some superhero tropes on their head in a very creepy fashion.
Brightburn reunites James with his Slither star Elizabeth Banks, along with David Denman, Jackson A Dunn, Matt Jones, Meredith Hagner and Steve Agee.
It was directed by David Yarovesky – who had a small role in Guardians of the Galaxy – and was written by James' brother Brian Gunn and their cousin Mark Gunn.
James Gunn was recently reinstated by Disney as director on Guardians of the Galaxy 3, which is expected to begin shooting in 2020. He is also writing and directing the DC movie reboot, The Suicide Squad.

Banks wrote, produced and directed the upcoming Charlie's Angels reboot, in which she also features as one of multiple Bosleys.
Brightburn will be released in the UK on June 21 and in the US on May 24.
