Zayn Malik (aka ZAYN) and Zoella are among the stars up for the British LGBT Awards this year - causing a bit of controversy among voters.
ZAYN is among the nominees in the Music Artist category - along with Adele, Jess Glynne, Halsey, Frank Ocean, Sam Smith, Years and Years, and the band containing Malik's former girlfriend Perrie Edwards, Little Mix.
The British LGBT Awards notes on its official nominations page that it accepted "public nominations in this category, regardless of the nominee's sexuality, gender, ethnicity, disability, age, education, race and religion".
In the Celebrity Straight Ally Awards category, Zoella will compete against Kim Cattrall, Danny Dyer, Nigella Lawson, Brian May, Eddie Redmayne, James Sutton and Holly Willoughby.

In perhaps a less controversial category, LGBT Celebrity of the Year nominees include screenwriter Dustin Lance Black, comic Alan Carr, model-actress Cara Delevingne, singer Boy George, reality star Caitlyn Jenner, soap star Kieron Richardson, DJ-actress Ruby Rose, and stage and screen veteran Ben Whishaw.
