Final Fantasy VII is coming to your iPhone, iPad and iPod.

Square Enix's Shinji Hashimoto announced during its E3 presentation today that the developer is adapting the original PlayStation version of the role-playing game, rather than the newly-revealed remake.

No pricing or release date details have been revealed yet for this revamped version of the gaming classic.

Final Fantasy VII originally made its PlayStation debut back in 1997, and has remained popular through Steam and PSN adaptations in recent years. Earlier Final Fantasy titles have also been ported for iOS.

The separate HD remake of Final Fantasy VII was also announced at E3 as being in the works for PlayStation 4.

Square Enix made headlines at the gaming conference for unveiling a brand new role-playing game called Project Setsuna as well.
