A large rubber duck surprised tourists and onlookers as it floated past the famous skyscraper skyline of Hong Kong.

Hundreds of people lined Victoria Harbour as the six-storey-high yellow duck was pulled by a tugboat on Thursday (May 2).

Onlookers described the duck, created by Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman using specially designed PVC sails, as "pretty interesting" and "a big surprise".

Zhang Wenjin told AFP: "This is huge. My daughter liked it when she saw it just now. Because kids like cute stuff."

Explaining the message behind his creation, Hofman said that the duck was "about connecting people".

"It's about one world, it's about look for real.
